Donald Trump or Hillary Clinton shall publicly concede the 2016 general election for U.S. President no later than 11:59 p.m. (ET) on November 9, 2016. A qualifying concession must be part of a spoken statement made publicly by the candidate in question, and that public statement must stand alone as a concession by either including an affirmative use of some form of the word "concede" or otherwise affirming the victory of another U.S. Presidential candidate, with the effect of acknowledging that other candidate's status as the unconditional president-elect.

A candidate who is not his or her party's nominee on Election Day, or who has dropped out of the race or is physically incapacitated, shall be considered to have failed to offer a qualifying concession.

A concurrent spoken declaration by the candidate in question that he or she is, or is considering, litigating or otherwise contesting the results of the election (or a sufficient portion of the results as to render the outcome theoretically in dispute), or has not yet determined whether he or she will do so, will disqualify a spoken statement as a qualifying concession. Such a declaration shall be deemed concurrent if made within the same spoken statement. For purposes of this question, words spoken publicly by a candidate at a press conference or similar single appearance shall all be considered part of the same statement.

Once PredictIt determines that a qualifying concession has been made, any subsequent statement regarding withdrawal of a concession or contesting the results of the election will have no effect on the resolution of this market. PredictIt’s decisions and determinations under this rule shall be at PredictIt’s sole discretion and shall be final.
