How many Yea votes will be cast in a House vote on passage of the American Health Care Act by Mar. 23?

Market Type: Linked

End Date: 03/24/2017 6:00 AM (ET)

Status: Expired

At or before 11:59:59 p.m. (ET) March 23, 2017 ("expiration"), the U.S. House of Representatives shall commence a vote on passage of any legislation bearing an official short title that includes the exact phrase "American Health Care Act" or "American Healthcare Act", in which the number of representatives casting Yea votes equals the number or range identified in the question, according to the official vote tally reported by the website house.gov or, should that source be unavailable, the Congressional Record or other official source. The vote on passage will be considered to have commenced once at least one representative has cast a vote. So long as such a vote commences prior to expiration, the full results of the vote will be used to resolve this market, even if the vote concludes after expiration. The results of the vote need not be available at the identified settlement source upon expiration.

A vote on passage of legislation bearing a qualifying short title will remain eligible to resolve this market, regardless of any changes to its title, content, purpose, or effect. A vote on passage of any legislation not bearing a qualifying short title will have no impact on the resolution of this market.

Should no such vote be commenced prior to expiration, or should such a vote fail to result in passage of the legislation and fail to result in the recording of a tally of votes, the question identifying the range "203 or fewer" will resolve as Yes and all other questions in this market will resolve as No. Should such a vote result in passage of the legislation, but not result in the recording of a tally of votes, the question identifying the range "236 or more" will resolve as Yes and all other questions in this market will resolve as No.

Prior to expiration, should a vote take place on passage of more than one bill bearing the requisite official short title, the outcome of the vote on the first such legislation voted on will be used to resolve this market. Provided that, should such outcome be nullified or superseded by a successful motion to reconsider, which is in turn followed by a second vote on passage of the same legislation that commences prior to expiration, the result of the second vote will be considered the qualifying vote.

The outcomes of committee votes, hearings, or reports, and other procedural votes will have no impact on the resolution of this market.
