What will be the result of the 2017 Puerto Rican status referendum?

Market Type: Linked

End Date: N/A

Status: Expired

The results of the Plebiscite of Puerto Rico's Status scheduled to be held on June 11, 2017 shall be reflected by the status identified in the question. The results of any subsequent round of voting will have no impact on the resolution of this market.

The term "plurality" within the questions in this market shall indicate that no outcome received an outright majority of the vote. Should the most specific data made available indicate an exact tie for first place among two or more of the balloted choices, all questions in this market will resolve as No. Should no such plebiscite be held on June 11, 2017, all questions in this market will resolve as No. Should any of the ballot choices referenced in the questions not appear on the plebiscite, this market will still resolve according to these criteria. The precise terminology or English-language translation of the ballot choices in the questions need not precisely match that listed on the ballot, so long as they can be reasonably matched, at PredictIt's sole discretion.

PredictIt may determine how and when to settle the market based on all information available to PredictIt at the relevant time.

PredictIt reserves the right to wait for further official, party, judicial or other relevant announcements, reports or decisions to resolve any ambiguity or uncertainty before the market is settled. Markets may stay open or incur a delay in settlement well past the date of the contest in certain circumstances. If there is any change to an event, or any situation arises, that is not in PredictIt’s view addressed adequately by the market rules, PredictIt will decide the fairest and most appropriate course of action.

PredictIt’s decisions and determinations under this rule shall be at PredictIt’s sole discretion and shall be final.
